The Behring Global Educational Foundation (BGEF) is proud to have recently partnered with ABC7 Bay Area’s Feed California campaign to combat food insecurity across the region. During a special segment filmed at the Food Bank of Contra Costa and Solano, BGEF President David Behring presented a generous $125,000 donation to help provide meals for families in need.
Behring was joined by ABC7’s Dan Ashley and Food Bank Executive Director Caitlin Sly for the announcement, emphasizing the importance of community support during challenging times.
“On behalf of the Board of Directors of the Behring Global Educational Foundation, we are honored to present this check for $125,000 to the Contra Costa Food Bank,” said Behring. “It’s our hope that this contribution inspires other organizations throughout the Bay Area to support their local food banks. There’s such a dire need for food right now, and we want to do everything we can to help.”
The donation comes at a critical time, as thousands of local families face reduced access to food assistance. According to Sly, the contribution will have a significant impact:
“This couldn’t come at a better time. Just in Contra Costa and Solano Counties, 100,000 families are losing benefits because of the government shutdown. This donation will help us turn $125,000 into enough food for 250,000 meals. We are incredibly grateful for this support.”
ABC7’s Feed California initiative continues to unite organizations and individuals across the state in the fight against hunger. The Behring Global Educational Foundation is proud to contribute to this important cause and encourages others to take action and make a difference in their communities.
“Living with food insecurity is a terrifying and uncomfortable thing,” said Ashley. “We can do something about it—together.”
